Chicky’s
About This Spot
Stepping into Chicky’s in Stilwell feels like slipping into a cherished local rhythm—unpretentious, warm, and a little familiar, as if you’re visiting a long-time neighbor’s kitchen rather than a busy restaurant. The pace here is easygoing, with a gentle hum of conversation and the faint, comforting scents of home-cooked barbecue and crispy chicken wafting through the air. It’s a spot where families gather, and regulars nod a familiar hello, quietly sharing in the simple joy of good food made with heart.
The atmosphere holds a laid-back, lived-in charm, where the clink of plates and the welcoming bustle strike an inviting balance. Whether you’re pulling up to the drive-thru or settling into one of the humble booths inside, there’s a grounding sense that here, meals are about more than just sustenance—they’re about connection.
The menu naturally weaves into this experience, offering a comforting array of familiar flavors that echo down-home traditions. From tender, richly spiced dark meat chicken that feels like an old family secret, to sides that evoke a slower, sweeter Southern pace, each bite tells a story of careful, no-frills cooking. You might find yourself savoring perfectly seasoned okra or a hand-cut, golden-fried potato side—a subtle reminder that attention to detail and quality ingredients shape every dish.
Chicky’s quietly embraces its roots while remaining receptive to change, reflecting a community that values both steadfast favorites and thoughtful new additions. It’s a place where the food isn’t flashy but honest, where the atmosphere invites you to linger a little longer, and where the simple pleasures of comfort food draw a diverse crowd. There’s something quietly grounding about a place like this—an invitation to slow down, share a meal, and feel just a bit more at home, even if you’re just passing through.

They have the best gizzards And the best fried thighs and their fries are thin. Cut whole potatoes. I can't speak to their chunks because I don't like white meat chicken. I'm a dark meat guy except for my women.

It was really good! I got the chicken fried steak and it was perfectly cooked! The green beans and potatoes were amazing and well seasoned. Definitely going to stop by again whenever I go back thru town

Actually love this place however I do have 2 issues with this particular order. Firstly my ribs had great flavor but it was cold and I tried them as I was pulling out of the drive thru so they should been atleast warm and secondly my Texas toast taste like soap, but at least they had clean surfaces lol everything else was fabulous

So it had been years since I went into what was then Charlie’s Chicken in Stilwell, Now Chicky’s.. I hit the drive through on occasion, but stopped in because I heard they had changed ownership.. the lady who was the store manager bought it and I was told kept most of the menu, but added some healthier options. Like grilled chicken salads etc. So I still ordered chicken gizzards, because I wasn’t feeling healthy at that moment, and some broccoli salad (it’s like coleslaw with broccoli vs cabbage, and was surprisingly tasty). But what shocked me the most was how the atmosphere had changed, people were friendlier if possible and the store seemed to smell better, I realized that it was likely the combination of the pride of ownership and the fact that everyone working there has to deal with the owner every day, vs some faceless person in California, or wherever, and goodness it makes a difference you can smell and taste. Go check them out if you haven’t.
